Stage1 BMW M3 Competition.
M3 Competition in the F80 body is something new. The car has been given a new heart, replacing the V8 with an inline twin-turbo six, and the results were not long in coming. Although the maximum power did not increase significantly, overall efficiency has greatly improved. Developers have calculated that the new twin-turbo six is 40-70% more productive within the working range. Torque at the cutoff is now almost the same as the V8 had at its peak. Maximum torque is 550Nm, available from 1850 rpm to 5500 rpm! Overall, a worthy replacement for its predecessor.
This engine also performs well in terms of tuning, with a fairly good durability reserve and decent performance!
The client decided to make chip tuning for his BMW M3 Competition. The level of modifications will be done at Stage1, to test and decide whether that will suffice, or move on to Stage2.
The task for us was clear and we immediately got to work! After checking the car for possible malfunctions and ensuring that everything is in order, we can confidently start working!
After securely fastening the car to the dyno stand, we made the first measurement and got the results of the stock performance. The car showed: 477 horsepower and 627Nm of torque.
Next, we need to remove the original software from the car to send it to our partners for all the necessary corrections and modifications. Then, we just have to wait for the response email with the tuned version.
After a while, we have the finished file and we are ready to write it back to the car. After writing the tuned file, we can move on to the final run and see the real changes!
Tuned version output: 588 horsepower and 828Nm, which is +111 horsepower and +201 Newtons of torque more than before!
