Gelandevagen is a legendary car. It became very famous in the 90s among different circles of people. In those days, this car inspired fear and respect on the road, because it was driven by someone important in the city. Thanks to its iconic body shape and intimidating look, this car became so recognizable that it was impossible to confuse it with any other car!

This particular version started its existence in 2012, when Daimler AG held another restyling of its models. At the same time, the high-performance version G63 AMG 5.5 bi-turbo was introduced with a power of 544hp and 760Nm.

And it was this version that came to us at UPstage. The customer came to us to add even more horsepower and torque, which we were happy to do!

First of all, we checked the car for any errors using computer diagnostics, as they could interfere with reading the engine control unit’s firmware. Once we had a positive result, we moved on to the next step.

After securely attaching the car to the dyno stand, we measured it to get precise engine characteristics. The results were as follows: 545hp and 783Nm.

Then we proceeded to the next step. After extracting the original software from the car, we sent it to our partners for optimization. After some time, we received a response email with the modified file ready to be written into the car’s system. After writing the modified software, the car was measured for power once again.

The results were very impressive. See for yourself!

Let’s calculate the gains from chip tuning the Mercedes Benz G63 AMG. So, we get a power increase of +126hp and +150Nm.
